TheVine - The Slut Threshold - Life & pop culture, untangled: "Twenty, it seems, is the sluttiest number. It was the number used in terrible yet compelling 2011 rom-com What’s Your Number, it’s the number 32% of Australian AskMen readers think makes a woman “sexually promiscuous”, and in a study last week, it was the number boffins at Cornell University used as their promiscuity bench-mark for college-aged women.
It’s also a number that, to me, seemed pretty low to cast judgement on, especially if you’ve been sexually active for several years. Twenty is, after all, only two regrettable one night stands, and two good ones; five short-term relationships; four long-term relationships; one hilarious high school threesome; a cheeky fling and three hook-ups with friends. If you became sexually active at 16, and had at least a handful of months where you didn’t have a full-time job, it doesn’t seem unfathomable that you could hit that target by 22 without even trying. If you’re 26 years old, and lost your v-plates the year you became legal, 20 is only two people a year."
